Overview

For ages 5 and up, this approx 90-min tour is an "overview" tour of scenic Newport.

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Age history and events that occurred over the centuries.

Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
The trolley is not handicapped accessible. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

Interesting tour through the heart of Colonial Newport pass over 70 plus restored Colonial homes. Many on the National Historical Landmark Registery. We saw the Old Colony house, the White Horse tavern, the Quaker Meeting house amongst others. Worth doing at least once.

4 of us took this 90 minute tour yesterday. We have been to Newport many times, but this tour pointed out many attractions we never knew about . Our driver was extremely knowledgeable of Newport. The seats on the bus are comfortable leather, but a little tight in space. When making a reservation for the tour online, I was careless and did pay attention to the date that was showing. When printing out the tickets, I noticed that I had actually paid for a tour that was to start that day and in about 30 minutes. I immediately called the number on the ticket. I spoke to Carlos who told me not to worry, he could fix it. He took the info of what I thought I was booking and told us to just show up at the correct time. He would make sure the driver knew we were coming. I am happy to say that he did exactly as he said he would. Our driver had all the information about us. Thank you Carlos. The tour was great. We would recommend this tour to everyone, even if you think you know Newport.

This was a very entertaining trip of 9 minutes, with an excellent guide-driver. So much to see and experience.an well worth the charge. To boot we had wonderful sunny weather.
