Overview

For ages 5 and up, this approx 90-min tour is an "overview" tour of scenic Newport.

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Age history and events that occurred over the centuries.

Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

Today's happenings are also thoroughly covered such as the best dining spots, boat tours, and other fun activities. Your tour guide will detail the best way to navigate this bustling city as well as explain the Cliff Walk attractions.

Public parking is available at the Transit Center. Fees for parking May 1 to Oct 31
The duration of this tour is 70-90 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
The trolley is not handicapped accessible. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

We had an amazing tour with Russ!! There were 4 of us, and we would all highly recommend taking this tour. You will get a lot of great history, as well as some fun, amazing facts about Newport! Russ made our trip very enjoyable bringing humor into the details. He is so knowledgeable about the area, and he really did a fabulous job! If you want to learn about Newport, or just take a relaxing tour around Newport, this is the way to do it. Very comfortable seats and enjoyable all around!

Wonderful tour guide and tour. Put this on your list as the first tourist thing to do. The Touro Synagogue is also a must. (As is Benjamin’s Raw Bar for the Rhode Island clam chowder!)
