Overview

For ages 5 and up, this approx 90-min tour is an "overview" tour of scenic Newport.

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Age history and events that occurred over the centuries.

Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

Today's happenings are also thoroughly covered such as the best dining spots, boat tours, and other fun activities. Your tour guide will detail the best way to navigate this bustling city as well as explain the Cliff Walk attractions.

The duration of this tour is 70-90 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
The trolley is not handicapped accessible. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

We were here to see Rhode Island for few days. Looked on line for a tour and found this great Trolly It was 90 minutes and pointed out many historic sites as well the Mansions. We did not take the option of going on tour of a mansion but if you have not been I would recommend it. The tour without the mansion tour is about 90 minutes.

We enjoyed our trolley tour of Newport with our knowledgeable guide. Saw all the sights and got some back history too. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

Great, informative and entertaining tour - a great value for the money. The driver had a great personality and manner of sharing all of the interesting information. My only criticism was that the a/c was set much too cold. Many people on the tour around us were commenting that they were "freezing". It took my mom and I a good 10 minutes to warm up after we got off of the trolley. But overall it was a great time!
