We had a fabulous experience with Jack during this food tour- when we travel we always book tours….food, history, ghosts….you name it ! We would always say the tour guide can definitely make or break the experience so I wanted to specifically point out that our tour guide, Jack, was genuinely personable, funny, down to earth and just a great time to tour with!! The places we visited were all unique, off the beaten path and delicious with generous servings. Jack was great in offering historic tid bits and general local recommendations along the way (we stopped back into the Vanderbilt for a drink and a gorgeous rooftop view before dinner as he suggested), he also super accommodating when it can to any special dietary needs and continuously asked for our feedback- I would 110% recommend this tour to anyone, worth ever penny!

My husband and I went on this tour, it was our first food tour. We really enjoyed the tour guide high energy! She gave us a lot of good historical information along the way and the food was really good.

The places were not very nice restaurants. The Viking Hotel was nice but they sat us in a hallway with not enough seats and gave us raw oysters. The restaurants just were not nice

Thank you for taking our tour Casey and sharing your review. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed in the restaurants, its unfortunate because I understand you did not even stay for the last stop which was very different from all the others. Our tour is generally an off-the-beaten-path neighborhood tour of diverse local restaurants not found in the more touristy areas of Newport. It is also an opportunity to share with and meet new people, in fact, there are many people that often meet and become friends with each other after the tour. Our tours also include some great history and culture that add to the entire experience. The hotel you mentioned where we had fresh local oysters (not the Viking), in fact, happens to have a great deal of history that most people find fascinating and rounds out the tour. I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking, we try to be clear on our website what to expect and the restaurants are also shown on it, but clearly this does not sound like the kind of experience for you and everyone is different. That all said, we are a small local business ourselves and we are proud of our tour offerings and most importantly the many testaments found on this site. Thank you again. I hope you enjoyed your time in Newport.
