A great look at the other side of Newport! A tour of the true historic area - old Newport before the mansions - and great food to go along with it. Our tour guide was interesting and fun and we really enjoyed ourselves. Not to mention a celebrity sighting at a hot dog place!

Our tour was conducted by Leah who was very informative and enthusiastic. We visited six sites and sampled a wide variety of food from Irish soda bread and flavored butter to some of the best ribs I've had (at a Mexican restaurant no less). If you go on this tour, do it early in your stay in Newport so you can go back to some of the great restaurants for a meal.

Newport, RI, was a wonderful location to have our most recent college reunion. We've done this many times in a variety of fun cities across the country. The RI Red Food Tour, led by Leah, was fabulous. We got a strong sense of the history of Newport, which included general history as well as local secrets and the newest hot spots. The restaurants selected were truly fabulous and represented fun foods and high quality tasting opportunities. It was a relaxing way to learn about the local scene and Leah could not have been more gracious, articulate, and knowledgeable! Thanks to the RI Red Food Tour for a great introduction to Newport!
