This was my first time to Newport. Our tour guide was Roy and he was the best! His family has lived in the area for generations so he was very knowledgeable. He was a retired history teacher so he knew the history of the area plus he was humorous and entertaining. We very much enjoyed our tour and the mansions. I would recommend it to anyone who has limited time but would like to see as much as they can in a short time period.

The tour was on schedule the whole time, well organized and coordinated with the mansion tours. The guide was knowledgeable and competent but not as engaging as described in other reviews. Our only material complaint was the air conditioning in the trolley, which blasted passengers in the rear half with painfully cold air, not fun on a sticky hot or rainy day. We were also a little disappointed with the content of the actual tour, which was a bit short on Newport history to put everything into context and a little long on gossipy discussion of the super rich and what they spent on the properties during the gilded age. That may just be a matter of preference...

The tour was great. The driver was very informative. We visited 2 mansions and had sufficient time in both and still was able to to see everything. The trolly was air conditioned and very comfortable. We highly recommend this tour to everyone.
