Niagara Falls Canada - Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Heritage Tour

Overview
Uncover what was the second leg of the Underground Railroad. Our Scholarly 3-hour tour guides you through the city of Niagara Falls Ontario and nearby wine country (Niagara-On-The-Lake) en-route to St. Catharine's, Ontario where Harriet Tubman set-up her abolitionist strong-hold and place of worship, - the British Methodist Episcopal Church, Salem Chapel. Listen to the stories and see the sites that made up the African-Canadian experience heard from decedents of Freedom Seekers. Experience various freedom crossing points. See the historic Suspension and its connection to Tubman while catching a panoramic view of the Falls, and the role it played in the slave trade all with the roar of the mighty Niagara at your feet. This tour affords you the opportunity to get a regional orientation while combining Underground Railroad sites with general sites of interest - a two for one experience!

We had two days remaining in Ontario and really wanted to go on this tour. All on line bookings were full but I called Motherland Connections and left a message anyway. Kevin returned my call and agreed to take four of us on the tour from 3-6 that day. He arrived at our hotel at 2:45 in full period costume and was a walking and talking book of knowledge of not only the Underground Railroad but took us back to Africa for full understanding of Our history. My favorite part of the tour was the opportunity to meet the descendants of the Freedom Seekers at Salem Chapel. Priceless! In addition to Underground tour we visited a winery, Niagara Falls and general points of history in the area. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Underground Railroad. Thanks again Kevin.

Spectacular. The guide was knowledgeable and was able to transport us back in time...we could appreciate the dangerous undertaking to freedom. The most interesting part of the tour was Harriet Tubman's place of worship and one of the stops on the Underground Railroad. Great care has been taken to keep it in it's original state...so exciting. The walls in the basement display dozens of historical photos including Harriet Tubman at various points in her life. This tour is a must complete to complete your visit to the Canadian side of the Falls!

A really insightful first hand account of the descendants of the Freedom Seekers who now reside in Canada. The tour guy was very knowledgeable and fun. Good Tour.
