Niagara Falls Tour 1 Day

Overview

On this excursion with a bilingual Spanish and English guide, the bus trip is approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, departing from Manhattan. We will have some stops along the way and arriving to have breakfast in Niagara around 7:00 am, then around 8:30 am we will begin to visit the different viewpoints (Bridal Veil on Goat Island, The Horseshoe at Terrapin Point and the American waterfall.

The Maid of the Mist boat ride is NOT included but you can purchase it from the guide for $30 dollars from May 1 to October 25.

We will start by visiting the American Falls and the observation tower. You can also buy a ticket to board the Maid Of The Mist boat for US$30

Cave of the Winds

You will have the opportunity to buy admission to the Cave of the Winds for $12 to see the falls from below and feel how the water splashes on your body.

Such a great trip! Really lovely day, we got lucky with fantastic weather! If you are thinking of booking this, I recommend you get an inflatable travel pillow to give yourself the best chance to sleep. Also get an extra layer of clothing because they really blast the AC on the bus. Pros: - It’s the fastest and cheapest way to get to Niagara from NYC - They book your exact seat number, so you don’t have to fight over your preferred seat on the day - You get a free Mist of the veil boat pass - They give you a lovely postcard at the end - The tour guide was nice and friendly Cons: - There was no sink inside the bus toilet - The bus was smelly and it got progressively worse as the trip went on - During our time on the bus the tour guide didn’t tell us anything about the falls or the surrounding areas. There is so much history, geography and anecdotes they could have told us about that it felt a bit lazy and underwhelming on their side. I get they want to let everyone sleep, but there was plenty of time we were all awake. They could have given us at least a 30min of an audio tour. Overall I would recommend it, especially if the weather is good.

This review is in two parts. The positives are: it was reasonably priced when you consider other choices like flight to Buffalo, hotel costs, and it doesn’t bite into your days inNew York. The drivers are very polite and courteous and the two tour guides are knowledgeable- we had Yvette. There were two rest breaks on the 7 hour journey there with an opportunity to get drinks and breakfast. Similarly on the return journey we stopped at a shopping mall and had lunch in a supermarket and later on stopped at a service station. Yvette and her colleague chaperoned us to all the key areas so lots of photo opportunities along with key facts. On the down side, not much leg room on the coach, particularly if you have long legs - you need to catch some sleep! Although advertised and signed in the coach, no WiFi but the biggest issue was the onboard toilet NO HANDWASH! The guides need to be tougher with the travellers. Instructions were very clearly stated in Spanish and English and specific times for returning were given. However a number of selfish Spanish speaking travellers were repeatedly late to the extent that the driver did a loop three times to pick them all up taking over an hour and resulting in the trip to the Hydraulics Museum for those that did return on time and in the right place being penalised. You state quite clearly that if you are not at the right place for the start of the journey you will not wait. The same should be applied for tardiness at meeting places. If travellers don’t want to join in with the group, give them a time and destination and the responsibility.

Tour canceled last moment. I reached the pick up point and found no bus I messaged and then got a reply that we were trying to reach you to tell that tour is canceled. When I checked my mail there were 2 mails - one asking me to bring blanket and other one which reached me late that tour is canceled and opt for other dates. Tour was booked just a day before and the operator should have known that he can’t operate next day. Please just refund the money
