Would I recommend this experience to someone, yes. Just not with this company. The customer service issues started with the boarding process. The large group of people witnessed one couple being told by the Captain that he does not honor a particular online booking agent. The Captain continued that thier money was refunded. However, if they wanted to go on the excursion, they would have to pay on the spot, without having time to verify that thier money was actually refunded in the previous booking. That made the rest of us very nervous, as most of us had booked through an online booking agent. The next major issue we had was the amount of time in the water. The crew started the "45 min in the water time" the moment the first person put a foot in the water. We had to one-by-one offload 40+ people from the boat, checking gear as they entered the water. Then the crew had to guide us to where they wanted us and apply the leg flotation devices. Actual time looking at the Manta Rays was about 20min. The first person in the water maybe had 45min in the water,,, but certainly not 45min of observing Manta Rays. The Captain seemed preoccupied with continuing his evening with one of our passengers "Darla" who seemed to be able to break the rules of the boat without consequences. She was up dancing around seemingly under the influence, when we were instructed to remain seated. The constant flirting with Darla over the boat PA system for all of us to hear was obnoxious. There were about 8 other Charter companies out there doing the same Manta Ray experience, with brighter lights (brighter lights attract more plankton, attracting more Rays). I would absolutely do this experience again with a different company! We did see two individual Manta Rays a few times.
