We recently visited the Big Island of Hawaii, and based on recommendations of friends, decided to go on this Adventure. We learned more about Manta Rays as a species, how the tours to Snorkel with them began, and had a great ride out to the viewing location.
Our tour was the only one that offered a hot shower after leaving the cold waters of the Pacific. The Manta Rays swam freely around us, and per our Captain's request, we didn't touch them, but they definitely came in contact with us. :) You spend between 1 and 3 hours out observing the majestic creatures in the Ocean, but once about 80% of the snorkelers return to the boat (after getting their fill of the Ocean water and seeing the Manta Rays), the Captain will ask the others to return when they are done. This avoids staying out on the boat for extended periods of time while only a few people are snorkeling.
Snacks and drinks were provided as well as a wet suit jacket. We were able to view about 30 to 40 different Manta Rays while on our adventure. I would definitely recommend this particular tour to anyone that wants to see some beautiful sea life up close.
