If youā€™re on the Bug Island, swimming with the manta rays is a must! Hang Loose Tours brought us to a spot with a ton of manta rays and wasted no time. We were provided with wet suit jackets to ensure we were all warm enough. And our tour guides promoted safety while ensuring we had the best view possible. I highly recommend this tour for a true once in a lifetime experience.

Simon, Ula, & Bula (sorry for any misspelling) were amazing. They made sure everyone was safe getting in & out of the water. Life jackets were offered as well as pool floaties to keep your legs up while you watch the mantas. Itā€™s a little scary at first when you get to the lightboard & look down to see these HUGE creatures right underneath you but once you start to get comfortable & relax, it was BEAUTIFUL! There were at least 20 swimming right below us, they donā€™t touch you & you should not touch them. If youā€™re scared you may swim back at anytime after letting the crew know. Only got cold after 30 mins in the water so we got out & got a hot shower rinse on the boat to warm up. Donā€™t forget to bring a towel! We also took Dramamine an hour before & it helped with my usual seasickness on boats. Without a doubt would do again if Iā€™m back in Big Island!

Captain Jacob and Adam were great! The experience overall in the water is short, maybe roughly 30 minutes or so but definitely worth it. The manta rays swim right underneath you, mere feet from you. They swim under the whole group. Definitely worth the money. We took the 6pm trip and it was like a nice nighttime tour of the island.
