We checked in at 6 pm, left harbor at 6:30. Captain Jacob took us north 20 minutes to site just north of airport. (We thought we were going to original site just south of harbor.) He explained that there were 234 tagged manta rays that live along the coast and frequent three sites. He told us to hold the board, lay flat, and don't touch the rays. Mate Aidan held board with LED lights nearby and 20 of us swam to him. We floated for 30 minutes and only saw one ray off in the distance. My wife and I swam back to the boat. I was upset. I told Jacob that "this sucks", and asked if were going to a better spot. He said no and asked if I had heard of Mother Nature (?!!!!). He said that he can't control nature. 10 minutes later they started telling people to swim back to the boat. 5 minutes later there were still two people who ignored his calls when a huge ray swam under them. Then they swim back and get on the boat. Jacob says " Those last people got a great light show, sucks for the rest of you guys." Headed back to the harbor, off the boat at 8:05. Hour and a half tour, see almost nothing, and we're stuck with a smart aleck for a captain. I felt bad for mate Aidan. He didn't get many tips.

Fantastic experience. Observing these animals in the wild up close was awe inspiring. The crew of the Hang Loose did a great job.

Great experience! I was nervous because Iā€™m not a strong swimmer but it was 100% safe and a highlight of our trip. We saw so many manta rays! The captain and crew were so accommodating and made sure everyone was well taken care of. 10/10 recommend!
