It was great! The crew were all very professional and knowledgeable. They made everyone feel at ease swimming in open ocean at night. All gear included plus drinks and snacks and warm shower after the swim. Lots of manta rays seen. They are constantly below you, sometimes brushing their fins on you. Once in a lifetime experience, and must do in Big Island.

Mantarays do barrel roles inches from you. The water is cold, wishing the wetsuit was warmer and/or had a bottom. The women next to us vomited an ungodly amount of puke that we were stuck swimming in for several minutes before the current finally took it away. Also, this is not an experience for people who don’t know how to float or swim. Wearing a life jacket makes your feet stick down in the water (scares the rays away for everyone). You need to be able to float on stomach holding a board and legs floating flat (pool noodle assisted). Boat crew excellent.

This tour is the most "worth it" tour I've ever taken. When you take tours involving wildlife, you're always worried they'll be no-shows, which has happened to me before. But there were SO many manta rays, & they were HUGE! They were doing backflips in the water & coming up so close to us that one touched me. It looked like they were doing tricks in the water, but apparently that's just how mantas feed. It was like they were trying to put on a show for us. I can't even put into words how beautiful they are or how incredible this experience was. My GoPro footage is insane. This is a must-do in Hawaii, & it's not scary at all. Lots of people were scared or nervous until they got in the water, & then they were just in awe. This tour also has more time slot options than other tours, which allows for so much for flexibility with your schedule. Jasmine was out here climbing & jumping & working hard to make the experience great, so tip your guides!
