What To Expect

Portsmouth

Gosport Shipyard was established across the river in 1767 by Andrew Sprowle to repair British vessels. We will see US Navy ships in the now Norfolk Naval Shipyard which has been in constant operation since its founding. Along with a detailed history of the shipyard guests will learn the history of the founding of the city of Portsmouth.

Armed Forces Memorial

This very moving memorial contains artistically portrayed correspondence from US servicemen and women dating from 1776 to 1991.

Pagoda & Oriental Garden

We walk through the gardens with an authentic Pagoda gifted to Norfolk from Taiwan. Guests will learn about the unusual origins of the foundation of the structure.

Chrysler Museum of Art

We will venture inside the museum to view the Norfolk Mace and hear how the citizens of Norfolk have protected this cherished implement of power for 250 years.

Moses Myers House

Myers was a Jewish/American patriot. We will visit the house, hear about his sacrifices during the American Revolution and his family legacy.

The guide never showed up. If it was an emergency situation I understand, but a text or call would be nice. I tried calling the contact number but no answer. At least Trip Advisor gave us a refund within one day.

We had a wonderful time walking around Norfolk. We learned a lot about the town and the area. Very impressive. This tour gave us a better understanding about the city that we had only heard about
