Overview

Enjoy a beautiful scenic intermediate tour hiking along the coastline of the North Shore of Oahu with panoramic views of the Mountain and Ocean sides. At the top of the hike, there is a nice picnic table to sit at, giving a beautiful view of the North Shore. There is also an awesome rope swing that you can swing off of overlooking the lookout of the North Shore.

PRO'S: Easy to book and you can do it online; tour guide is there on time, tried to give info's on foliage and birds we see as well as the views/places as far as we can see; the tour guide also sent us pictures she took during the hike through text messaging which I found to be thoughtful and a good initiative on the part of North Shore tour company. CONS: For $75/person for a 3-mile back-and-forth walk, my family with youngsters would rather go to Waimea Valley for less than $20/person (will even pay less for kids & students). This particular hike will just give you a view of the ocean but from miles away; I'm saying this because I watched a video (not sure now if it's from North Shore official site) showing people hiking close to the shore and jumping into the water. This is probably with the longer hike but definitely not the Beginner's hike.

tour guide was very knowledgable and was pointing out lots of things on the hike. Some people were not able to go at his pace and he held back from slower people. He was very accommodating and a great spirit. Would recommend the tour to friends.

We did a couple of other hikes in Oahu before this one. This was definitely our favorite. Ken was knowledgeable about the area and great with recommendations about anything. Totally cool and friendly guy. The hiking experience was definitely different from that of Diamond Head or Manoa Falls etc. because this spot is far less known, thus we ended up feeling more in nature. We also saw a whale blow but were told other people even saw them breaching. Would recommend this to anyone, especially if you could book thru Go Oahu Card.
