This was a great, if challenging, experience. I have hiked but had not done any canyoneering or bouldering before this trip. The first part included 5 repels, some stemming and hiking along the canyon floor. The repelling was fun and our guide Mike was fantastic. He was encouraging, kind and definitely knew what he was doing. I trusted him completely. The views are spectacular and well worth it. Be prepared for a strenuous ascent out of the canyon. Lots of climbing over rocks as well as "chimneying" up narrow portions of the canyon. Again, Mike was excellent at helping all of us out of the canyon. (I'm not sure if I would ever go canyoneering without him!) I would definitely recommend this experience. However, you do need to have some endurance and level of physical fitness to enjoy the hike.

this was amazing. period. my son (26) and i went on October 29th, 2017. while we have hiked for years, done a bit of caving, and lots of scrambling and bouldering, this was our first slot canyon -- a dream for several years. we were not disappointed - exceeded our expectations. Brian is very knowledgeable and led a group of 5 of us through this wonderful canyon. 5 repells total and a few roped assisted drops. we were a pretty fit group but nonetheless it was challenging, but exhilarating. felt totally confident in his ability and knowledge. learned a ton and had a lot of fun (he is a funny and very personable guide). Navtec is definitely our go to for more slot canyoneering -- we are hooked! one note -- the climb out is pretty grueling, mostly stemming up a tight canyon about 600 ft vertical - be prepared for that. not for kids or anyone who doesn't have some endurance. thanks to Brian for a wonderful day -- highlight of our family weekend in Moab for sure.
