This was an eye-opening trip with incredibly talented crew and views that wow at every turn of your head. This is the 'long' boat ride that serves lunch, but well worth the investment of time and money. Captain provided very well curated running commentary with fun anecdotal explanations of what we were seeing -- two kinds of whales (close-up breaching and mother/baby and small and big pods in several settings/locations), two kinds of dolphins, puffins and eagles and ospreys and other birds and their rarified nesting sites, not to mention the scenery. And the glaciers, both distant and right in our face! Crew said that this captain was different than other tour companies/captains in that he would take the boat within a few feet of the glacier (had to navigate between big and small icebergs up to the face of the glacier, which calved right in front of us). Sailed right up to cliffside water falls and into coves where sea lions rested (and talked to us!) with the whole panoply of sea-going Alaska. Too, the captain and crew were very environmentally conscious of stewardship of nature -- not preachy, just wonderfully aware and sharing that this is all delicate while amazingly and strongly in-your-face. A life-time of memories in just a few hours. Uh, wear your coat and gloves and hat. Those glaciers like it cold out there!

We lucked out with a perfect weather day. We spent over half of it outside, and with jeans, sweaters, and a light jacket, it was still chilly outside. You could go inside at anytime though. The boat had very comfortable seats, and the kids enjoyed lots of hot chocolate and cider. The staff was exceptional. They shared a lot of information and were very kind and interactive with our 10, 12, and 14 year old. We had 5 whale sightings, lots of sea lions, puffins, and a lot more wildlife. We did a glacier plane landing a few days prior, but seeing the glacier this way was a completely different experience. This tour was my favorite excursion we’ve booked this trip. Some people stayed inside the boat almost the whole time. I think we enjoyed it a lot more since we wanted to be outside watching for wildlife.

We had an excellent tour of the fjords, glaciers, and also saw many different marine life. Michael ( I think his name was ) put every effort into making sure we saw everything that was available to see, even went out of his way to see things that other boats told him about. the service was very good and the people on the ship were friendly and helpful as well. we would recommend this excursion to every one!
