What To Expect

Diamond Head State Monument

This iconic Waikiki landmark was formed 300,000 years ago when the volcano erupted. As these materials settled, they cemented together into a rock called tuff, creating the crater. Your guide will explain the geologic and military history of the world famous Diamond Head Crater while you enjoy the view of surfers in the waves. Learn about some of the history of these beautiful homes surrounding this impressive landmark. (No strenuous summit hike.)

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve

This iconic bay is a highlight for many in Hawaii. Your guide will talk about the geologic formation of the bay, the coral reef and the environmental impact. Your group will have an opportunity to take pictures of the bay.

Halona Blowhole

At the Halona Blowhole (meaning peering place or place to lookout), water can shoot up to 30 feet into the air. The reason the water shoots into the air here is due to small caves along the coast with an opening at the top. During the winter we may view whales along the coast. On a clear day we can see Lanai, Maui and Kahoolawe.

Waimanalo

Get a glimpse of Barack Obama's new oceanfront mansion along the stunning Waimanalo Beach.

Byodo-In Temple

Visit the famous Byodo-In Temple made famous by movies and TV shows. This iconic location is a perfect photo backdrop.

Tropical Farms (The Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet)

Here at the Macadamia nut farm, guests will be able to crack open a Macadamia nut to sample the raw nut. There are also Macadamia nut samples, a gift shop, and Kona coffee samples.

Kualoa Regional Park

At Kualoa Beach “Secret Beach”, your guide will show you this beautiful protected beach for some great pictures of Chinaman’s Hat (Mokoli'i) and Kualoa Ranch. Walk along the beach for a picture, feel the warm sand between your toes and relax.

North Shore

Enjoy beautiful views of the famous North Shore

Sunset Beach Park

Sunset Beach is a great place to watch the surfers in the winter. It is known for beautiful sunsets and nice sand.

Waimea Bay

Spectacular views of the sand and blue water of this iconic North Shore bay

Haleiwa Store Lots

In Historic Haleiwa on the North Shore, guests spend time shopping, getting shave ice, and enjoying local food in this old plantation town. Spend some time at the famous Matsumoto’s Shaved ice for an island classic: Shave Ice.

Dole Plantation

At the Dole Pineapple Plantation you will see what a pineapple plant looks like, how to cut a pineapple, and how chocolate is grown and harvested. Learn about the famous dole family and enjoy the famous Dole Whip treat.

Honolulu

Enjoy the coastal and mountain views of the capital of the island state.

We had a full day Oahu Circle Island tour. We are a family of 5 and there was one other couple on the tour. It was a great tour - well paced, interesting stops, great photo ops. Our tour guide, Heather, really made the tour for us. She was super friendly and warm, very accommodating, and offered a ton of interesting and insightful information. Heather did a great job with adults and kids alike in our group. She honestly couldn’t have done a better job. I’d highly recommend this tour company, this particular tour, and tour guide Heather. Well done Heather and Hawaii Outdoor Guides!

We took this tour because we had only 3 nights in Oahu and didn’t rent a car but wanted to see more than just Waikiki and Pearl Harbor. It met our expectations overall because it enabled us to hit several of the places of interest on the island in 1 day. The thing that made it a very good tour was our guide Heather. She is super friendly, knowledgeable about the island and works hard to ensure that you enjoy yourself. She was great with our children, running down to the ocean with them at one stop to skip stones. When we stopped for a food truck lunch, she went out of her way to try to find a bbq corn stand because one I had read about was closed that day. It’s her personal touch that we really appreciated. The tour does stop at a few tourist trap spots but that goes with the territory on many tours it that is counterbalanced by the number of must-see spots you also go to - Hanauma Bay; Halona Blowhole; Chinaman’s Hat; and the North Shore. If you only have a few days in Oahu, I recommend taking this tour coupled with a separate 1/2 day visit to Pearl Harbor on another day of your visit and an afternoon on Waikiki Beach.
