Old Ballard Brewery Tour

Overview
TOUR INCLUDES REUBEN'S BREW, WHEELIE POP BREWING, AND LAGUNITAS TAPROOM AND BEER SANCTUARY.

Our tour ends just a few short blocks from Old Ballard's Historic District where you can find over two dozen restaurants, pubs, and cocktail lounges. We'll sample traditional, old-world brewing styles and new, experimental beers that you will find only in these breweries. We will learn why the close proximity of Northwest barley fields, the most productive hops growing region in the world and visionary brewing pioneers have made Seattle the center of the craft brewing renaissance.

What To Expect
1
Reuben's Brews
Our tour begins at Reuben's Brews, one of the neighborhood's most popular spots. This brewery is truly a family affair. In fact, young Reuben was only a month old when his Dad and Mom opened the brewery that boasts his name. Let's drop in and enjoy Reuben's father's handiwork.
2
Lagunitas Brewing Company TapRoom & Beer Sanctuary
We end our tour just a few short blocks from Ballard's Historic district at Lagunitas Taproom and Beer Sanctuary. One of Ballard's newest breweries is actually one of California's oldest. The Ballard brewery features old favorites and beers only brewed here in Washington. Even if you think you are familiar with Lagunitas there will be something here you have never tried before. We will also get a close up look at the brewing process.

We had a great time on this tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the area of town we were in, the beer we were drinking, and you could tell he was very passionate about his town and beer. Our group of 6 had a wonderful time and would definitely do the tour again.

Daniel, I had a great time with you and your friends. The next time you and your college buddies get together, come back up here to Seattle. There are plenty more beers to try. Cheers, Tim

My wife and I took the tour, and had a great time! Tim was very informative and we were able to taste a variety of beers, while learning about the brewing process. I was amazing to see the different breweries and each had their own unique vibe. We really enjoyed it! I highly recommend it!

Tim Lorang was our guide for this tour. It was just four of us on this tour, my husband and myself, and another couple. Tim was a great guide. He had lots of stories and tons of information about the beer business and beer itself. We started at the Lagunitas tap room and went on to NWPeak and ended at Peddler Brewing Company. We tasted a surprisingly wide variety of beers in these three places. Lagers, IPAs, sours, stouts, we tasted them all. We learnt about different stages of brewing, the effects of adding hops at different stages of the brewing process, the difference in taste depending on the degree of barley roasting and so on. I would recommend this tour highly. It’s a fun outing, you hang out with a fun guide, you learn a lot about beer and seattle’s microbrewery scene, AND you get to drink great beer! What’s not to love, eh?
