Jason G was terrific. The pace of the tour was just right. The food was very good. We had blueberry muffins, seafood chowder which was delicious, then lobster rolls, Deans ice cream and ended with a truffel. The history of the city is fascinating and so is the architecture.

Our tour guide Jason G. was so knowledgeable and really gave us a feel for the city of Portland. We were surprised to learn he hasnā€™t been doing tours very long, because he is a pro! We did the tour with our 8 & 11 year old daughterā€™s and they also enjoyed the tour. The food stops were all great and we had full bellies by the time we were done. We all had different favorites; Maine blueberry muffins, Gilbertā€™s Chowder, lobster rolls & ice cream. There were also stops for beer & chocolates. Itā€™s certainly not inexpensive but youā€™re really paying for the small group tour experience, which in our opinion, was top notch.

Blueberry muffins from union kitchen were heated up but frozen in center, cheese Louise was over rated and sandwiches weren't ready...Guide had to separate orders in bar,, my grilled cheese is better at home, clam cakes ordered at Gilbert's held up everyone in group, bar where you eat grilled cheese sandwich was not ready and had no menus of beer to offer...owner told 14 people to walk up to bar to view list, only proprietor that was ready and was on top if things was Magritte. Mcgrittys food and beer were great. Tour guide needed a microphone. He didn't gather the group when talking about the history. I don't mind spending 300.00 but I don't expect frozen muffins from a leading maine caterer or a cold 1/2 sandwich of grilled cheese and a bar owner who was not welcoming or engaging.
