What To Expect

Charlotte

We pick you up at the Westin Charlotte Downtown located 601 South College St. From there we take you on an all inclusive beer tour where you will visit 4 Breweries from amongst local favorites such as Petty Thieves, Lower Left, Suffolk Punch, Salty Parrot, Ass clown, and Resident Culture. You will also have a great meal at Midwood SmokeHouse.

Of all the things we did in Charlotte on a long weekend visit, this was definitely the highlight. Our guide/driver Jan had "Beer Expert" on her shirt for a reason. She was incredibly knowledgeable, gained an understanding of our beer knowledge as well as personal tastes, and curated the tour to ensure both that we got things we liked and tried new things. And we learned all about the beer making process and craft brewing industry along the way. We went to Free Range (our favorite), Petty Thieves (loved the "secret" barrel room), Lower Left, and had a beer-paired meal at Midwood Smokehouse (THE best BBQ in Charlotte). The vehicle was clean as a whistle and well air-conditioned, which was appreciated on a hot day. Our goal now is to travel only to cities in which City Brew Tours operates!

I had a great day out with host Vinny, whose mixture of beer science, friendly humor and passionate energy for the amber nectar always kept everyone engaged as we visited 3 craft breweries, sampling a flight of 4 beers in each one, not forgetting the flight at the Smokehouse where you could opt for a barbecue lunch or giant salad! As we enjoyed the beer, Vinny kept us on schedule for our tastings, driving us safely around and always ensuring we were looked after at the bar. Even if you were there for the ride rather than the beer, it was an enjoyable day out, and in no small part thanks to Vinny's charm and wit - thanks man!
