We will pass by the beautiful Millennium Park, where are three square blocks of open lakefront complete with a Ferris Wheel, outdoor music pavillion and ice skating rink.

River North

Your Chicago food tour will take you through the River North neighborhood — the original Chicago foodie destination — to sample some world-famous Chicago dishes, local favorites, and a sweet treat. It’s an afternoon that will leave you full of delicious food and memories for a lifetime! We start with a very well-known Chicago dish: the Chicago-style hot dog. Every Chicagoan has his or her own preference as to how the dog should be made, and you’ll get a chance to try your guide's favorite version. Next up is the world-famous Chicago deep-dish pizza. fter you’ve filled up on pizza and hot dogs, we’ll then continue our tasting journey with a classic Chicago sandwich: Italian beef.

Stroll through the main streets near the Loop Chicago which offers a wonderful concentration of museums, restaurants, bars and historic landmarks uniquely mixed with modern architecture, shops and art galleries.

It is so easy to read on the internet where one "should eat" in a city. That being said, you cannot replicate the experience of having a local take you hot spots and share all lore and history about the city and its famed establishments while you nosh. From two takes on the Chicago hot dog to sampling the 'original' deep dish and Italian beef sandwich, you will waddle away stuffed and satisfied. Our guide, Wallach, also shared architectural highlights en route and was an all-round awesome hang for the afternoon.

I've gone on food tours in other cities with Urban Adventures and other companies, so I was excited to find this tour in Chicago. I enjoyed the camaraderie with, and hearing stories from my fellow travelers (California, two from DC, and Philippines) and our enthusiastic guide (David). Our first two stops were hot dogs from J's Dawgs and Downtown Dogs. Then we filled up on deep-dish pizza from Pizzeria Due. The last stop was Portillo's, where we sampled beef sandwiches and saved room for chocolate cake. If you like visiting local eateries and trying local specialties, then this tour's for you!

We had a great experience on the gastronomic tour with Dash. He is an excellent guide, you can tell he loves his work, explains everything very well and was always attentive to any need. The dishes are really what you expect to find on this tour, they are really delicious and the portions are generous. We loved it and highly recommend it!!!
