Overview

Come jump on a city tour with us to cruise through some of the 15 top city highlights including Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach, Hayes Valley, Golden Gate Park, the Haight/Ashbury, Western Addition, Civic Center and The Marina. Also, you get 3 stops for photo ops at landmarks such as The Golden Gate Bridge, Painted Ladies and Palace Of Fine Arts (shhhh ...on occasion you might see us driving down that crooked Lombard Street if traffic permits). Fun fun fun!

Bonus is you will be transported in one of our vintage VW buses while rocking out to classic hit songs of the 60's-70's (Pearl, Poppy, Skye and Rosie).

The tour was very enjoyable, and I really appreciated our guide, Caio — also Brazilian, like me — which made the experience feel even more welcoming. It was stylish cruising around San Francisco in a VW Bettle. However, a few things could be improved. We barely had time to stop and take photos: just 5 minutes at the Golden Gate and 10 minutes at the Painted Ladies — and that was it. No other stops, no breathing room. A more complete tour would definitely include Fisherman’s Wharf, Castro neighborhood, Lombard Street, and allow at least 30 minutes at each location. Why that wasn’t possible is beyond me. Also, the vehicle is also quite loud, which made it hard to hear Caio’s commentary at times. And to top it off, I got lost at the Painted Houses because the meeting point instructions weren’t clear so I ended up walking to a completely different location. Still, despite these issues, it was a nice experience overall. 4 out of 5

What a fantastic tour! Our host, Jim, was VERY knowledgeable and provided us with so many facts and interesting tidbits throughout. With only 8 people in the van, and oldies music in the background, we had a personalized experience. It was fun to see tourists taking quick pictures as we drove by, with at least one of us flashing a peace sign! I highly reccomend this tour (with Jim) and would have taken the wine tour if we had more time in San Francisco.

Caio was a brilliant guide who showed us all the sights, told us interesting stories and was very laid back and easy going. We were very glad we did this tour as we had limited time in SF and we got a good feel for the city.
