We did not plan to take this ride; however, after lunch at a restaurant, a guy asked us, we said no, we wanted to just walk in the park. About 50 yards along our walk, the same guy, Barris, approached us again. A very affable fellow, he explained what we would see, and what his tour entailed. Since we had very little time, the usual tour was too long, so we negotiated and took a shorter ride. I have been to Central Park numerous times but I saw new things in this short time with Barris than I had ever seen before. My two companions had walking difficulties and, thanks to this pedicab, they were able to see sights that would have been inaccessible to them otherwise. Barris was a very intelligent, personable, knowledgeable guy who, next time I'm in the park, I will certainly try to find. Having read a few of the reviews below, I would suggest talking seriously to the operator before getting into his cab. If you find Barris, hop right in!

We bought 2 groupons for our family to do a 1 hr tour of Central Park. When I called to book it, I was informed by the man I was speaking to, (which based on his voice and accent I'm pretty sure he was one of our drivers) told me that tipping was not included and that we should tip at least $20-$25 per driver. Ok then. I was planning on giving them $10-15 each but felt guilted into giving more. We met our two drivers at 1 PM. They were nice enough guys, personable, friendly. Took us to all the touristy places, talked about the sights, stopped for pictures etc. When they dropped us off, our driver had a little clock hanging on his bike. It said 1:55, close enough to 2 o'clock. We got out, tipped them each $25 and walked almost 10 min back to our hotel. By the time we went up the elevator and into the room the clock in the room said 1:58. I asked my daughter what the time was on her phone and she said 1:58. We were shorted at least 15 minutes, times two rides, that's a half an hour. Not impressed by that at all. Nothing we could do then. Don't advertise 1hr trips and give customers 45 min. I definitely wouldn't have tipped as well as we did. My husband and I went to New York City seven years ago and took a pedicab on the spur of the moment. Didn't book anything and we tipped our driver less because it was our last day we didn't have much cash left. But he was way better and took us for a full hour. These two guys would drop us off, say go look at this or that and tell us where to meet them. They had at least three breaks in the 45 minutes.
