What To Expect

Liberty Bell Center

Depart New York through New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the "City of Brotherly Love"—Philadelphia.

Congress Hall

Arriving in the historical center of Philadelphia, visit the famous Liberty Bell, one of the symbols of freedom in America, as well as Constitution Square and Congress Hall.

Elfreth's Alley

Stroll Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest continuously inhabited street in America.

Rocky Statue

Continue on a panoramic tour of Philadelphia that includes the Financial District, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Historic Philadelphia, and more. Departing the city, you'll see the famous “Rocky Steps,” before continuing east to Lancaster County, the traditional home of the Amish people.

Amish Country

Start your time in Amish country with a ride on an authentic Amish horse-drawn buggy that you through Amish farm country. Learn how this traditional community lives without the benefit of modern technology: no electricity, running water, telephone services, or appliances. After the ride, visit the marketplace where you can shop for handmade arts crafts and products. In the late afternoon depart east for your evening arrival back in NYC.

We had a great trip to Philadelphia! The tour guides were very pleasant and knew their stuff. It is a long day and the buggy ride in Amish country was cut short because we were running behind schedule so we were not able to stop at an Amish farm. The Amish driver was not very talkative so unless you ask questions about their lifestyle you might not get any information at all. I was the only one in a group of about 12 people in the buggy that was asking all the questions. Both food stops, Philly and Amish Country were great!

We did 2 trips, the Washington Day Trip and this one. Both were worthwhile! This is a lot shorter than the Washington trip and everything is very central. I would recommend that you make all the buildings in the "old city" part of the tour those ones that we didn't see, you need to purchase tickets for. Perhaps your company could prepay to avoid queues.

Not all that I was expecting. I felt very rushed and there wasn't enough time in Amish Country to explore the handcrafts of the area. We were taken to the 'tourist' village which was very 'touristy'. The bus windows were dirty as was the general internal appearance of the bus. I did not like being expected to tip the guide who spent most of his time with the non-English speaking members.
