Firstly, after boarding the bus and sitting in an unoccupied seat behind another single traveller sitting in an unoccupied seat, we were told by the male guide that if couples came on we would need to move to allow them to sit together. Not impressed. Surely it's first in, first served and we boarded not long before departure time.If couples want to ensure they get a seat together they should come early. As it turned out the bus wasn't full so all was ok but singles should not be discriminated against!!
The schedule was good, all very interesting seeing Liberty Bell, Senate, Constitution Hall,The old houses etc and the staff there were great. Unfortunately it was raining for most of our tour which caused some people to remain on the bus. The Amish site was worth seeing but would have been more interesting if the cart driver had provided more information. Some of the others apparently did much better than ours. Plus the horses would not go to start with then went so slowly, it was painful as due to the rain we couldn't see anything anyway and were tightly squashed in.
The 'Kettle Village' stop was ridiculously long at 1hour and 10 minutes in pouring rain. There are only so many souvenirs you can buy and many of us wished to get back on the bus after 30 minutes but it was locked. That could have been shortened due to the weather. as it was, there was nowhere to shelter and most of us ended up soaked.
This tour needs some fine tuning. The guides also need to provide more in depth information. This tour is quite expensive.

An interesting walk round Philadelphia in the morning seeing the Liberty Bell, old part of town and The Rocky steps area. Stopped after a few hours walking for an early lunch break in a disappointing mall where most of the eateries had closed down. Then a drive over thLancashire County to the Amish region. Very picturesque scenery on the trip. Had a buggy ride for 30 minutes. We were up front with the Amish man and had a really good view. Onto a Amish Shopping outlet for an hour and 40 minutes for tea and shopping. Very good and excellent ice cream, a must to try. The only downside to the trip was we speak English and half of the coach was Spanish speaking and the tour guide seemed to speak to them a lot more than in English. Otherwise a very enjoyable trip which we would recommend.
