What To Expect

Liberty Bell Center

Depart New York through New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the "City of Brotherly Love"—Philadelphia.

Congress Hall

Arriving in the historical center of Philadelphia, visit the famous Liberty Bell, one of the symbols of freedom in America, as well as Constitution Square and Congress Hall.

Elfreth's Alley

Stroll Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest continuously inhabited street in America.

Rocky Statue

Continue on a panoramic tour of Philadelphia that includes the Financial District, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Historic Philadelphia, and more. Departing the city, you'll see the famous “Rocky Steps,” before continuing east to Lancaster County, the traditional home of the Amish people.

Amish Country

Start your time in Amish country with a ride on an authentic Amish horse-drawn buggy that you through Amish farm country. Learn how this traditional community lives without the benefit of modern technology: no electricity, running water, telephone services, or appliances. After the ride, visit the marketplace where you can shop for handmade arts crafts and products. In the late afternoon depart east for your evening arrival back in NYC.

This was a nice tour and we are glad we went but it wasn't that informative compared to other tours. They do take you to all those places but there is not that much time if you want to see or do anything. We didn't mind as we will probably end up going back to Amish country as we were snowed out.

Fantastic tour. Yohei was our guide for English and Japanese tourists and another one did French and Spanish. The tourists are split on the bus so we could only hear Yohei so it means we don't have to sit through 4 languages.

Tour of Philadelphia concentrates around Independence hall first and then extends to the history of Benjamin Franklin and his involvement. Yohei also gave a talk on the bus there about how the history of the US from the Pilgrim fathers to the US Civil war which helps understand about the independence hall. On our way out we stopped at the Philadelphia arty museum which is famous for the scene from Rocky whee he runs up the steps and plenty of people did the same. There's also a statue of Rocky next to it.

We then spent over an hour on the bus driving to Lancaster County and the town of ........ Intercourse. Yes, it really is called that. The buggy ride with the amish was good fun and we stopped at an amish farm who gave us homemade cookies which were delicious. The driver answered any question we had about their lifestyle and what they do on a day to day basis and considering the lifestyle we all live now with smartphones and computers it does amaze me how they manage.

Finally we got an hour and 15 minutes to look walk around the town and have a look at the Kitchen Kettle village which sells homemade products and souvenirs. The weather was clear and sunny all day which made this trip even better. Highly recommended if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York.

This tour was excellent and our tour guide, Joseph, is first class. Joseph's knowledge of history was superb but he did not blind us with unnecessary information! Our driver was also excellent he was helpful and accommodating. However, it would have been nicer to spend more time in the Amish town. We just about had time for lunch and no time to walk around the shops and houses. Perhaps you could build in an extra half an hour to spend there. Thank you. Martha.
