Entire process was great. Loaded up at their facility and had about 20 minute ride to launch site. Really neat to see the process of blowing up balloon and how it all happens. The flight was wonderful. Height of about 5500 ft and we traveled about 7 miles. It was a soft landing and the Champaign ending was a nice touch. Do it.

We had 2 families with 5 kids ages 9-17. We felt very safe the entire flight and our pilot was knowledgeable, confident, and definitely in control of the balloon. This trip wasn’t really a sunrise trip though. We were still in the van on our way to the lift off site when the sun rose and it was all the way up by the time we got in the basket. The view was still amazing, but it was the same view the entire flight as we basically circled back around and landed in almost the exact spot that we took off from. So it sort of felt like we were tethered to the ground the entire time. My husband and I have been in a hot air balloon before so maybe that took away some of the coolness of a new experience, but no one else in our party was overly impressed. With all that being said, I would definitely choose Rainbow Ryders for a hot air balloon experience as they were efficient, confident, and we felt very safe the entire time.

We strive to provide each and every one of our passengers with the best experience possible. Our number one priority is the safety of both our pilots and passengers, and due to regulations set in place by the FFA balloon companies must have special equipment to fly before there is a certain amount of visible light, which we unfortunately do not have, which is why all of our sunrise flights launch just after the sun has already risen. There were four of us in our group and not everyone enjoyed the same level of excitement in anticipation of this experience. That said, we all lived to tell the tale and had an amazing time. The trip well exceeded all of our expectations and we walked away checking off a major bucket list item. I would recommend Rainbow Ryder’s every day! They were amazing.
