Pirates has been around awhile in the back alleys of I-Drive. I finally checked out a show out of curiosity on a trip back home. I got my tickets off Groupon which provided some savings. Admission gets you the very basics - base meal (some chicken and veggies), no appetizer, no drink except water, base dessert (seemed like an individually wrapped store brownie), no parking (additional cost), no extras. They will immediately try and upsell you everything. Photos, tacky souvenirs, appetizers, food upgrades, soda, alcohol, etc are all upsells. The show is just ok. Poor audio, weak story, cheesy interactive elements, ok set design. The theme was a Halloween vampire show, but the vampire element had nothing to do with the story and was basically just the actor makeup. This came off as a tacky experience through and through. Usually dinner shows are, but this one feels like they are going out of business and they are nickel and diming you for everything. If you want a dinner show, go to Medieval Times. Tacky is the word of the day at Pirates - and not the fun kind of tacky.
