Overview

Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

Went for my buddies wedding. Decided to go surfing the morning of. Sandbar had great boards and wetsuits available, with a very helpful and friendly staff. I don't own my own surfing equipment so next time I go I will be giving Johnny a call!

Jonny, Micah, and Jess will provide you with the highest quality Surfing instruction on the Central Coast of California. No matter your physicality or ability level you will have a great time, with great people, on the beautiful shores of Pismo Beach. My son and I had a great time learning to surf at Sandbar Surf School! The owner Johnny and his two assistants, Clover and Jessica, were awesome. They made us feel like we belonged out there and were great about talking us through catching a wave. Even though there were quite a few people in the class it felt like one of them was watching and giving us individual attention the whole time. We will definitely plan on going back another time.
