The reenactors were wonderful! Although it was a grey day and misting, they played their roles to the hilt, especially "John." The gift shop had a nice variety of items, and the animals were lovely. We enjoyed the village and the Native American demonstrations. We were especially interested in the medicinal herb section.

Thanks Kristen for your review. The 17th-century English Apothecary is a new exhibit in the Craft Center this year. I love learning something new here everyday and the other day I learned about a few medicines... Electuary of Roses - dried roses ground into a powder made into a paste with honey is used to treat fevers. Conserve of Calendula - fresh marigold petals ground with sugar gladdens the heart and might help with the plague. Licking of medicine of Hyssop - boiled in water and made into a thick syrup with sugar, you dip a licorice stick in and lick it off, good for sore throats. Looks like I learned three new things, not one. Come back and visit us again soon. A new exhibit Coming to the Table opens the end of September to mark the 400th anniversary of the 1621 Harvest Feast known as the First Thanksgiving. Thank you!

We did a combo of the Mayflower II visit with the Plantagenet for 40$. The boat visit was ok but short. Not that much to see onboard. The Plantagenet was ok and seemed pretty realistic but not much was happening on site. We had about 6 protagonists that afternoon, none of them working on something or explaining much. besides that there were a few support staff in normal T-shirts. Overall, roughly six to eight huts were open with similar interior. Saw limited livestock with two bulls, two chicken, two sheep. It all felt a bit overpriced. Only by reading a bit of the history after the visit, I actually found out a bit more in detail.

An admission to Plimoth Patuxet and Mayflower is good for a full day visit. At Plimoth Patuxet we recommend 2 - 3 hours to visit the Patuxet Homesite (Indigenous culture - Native and non-Native staff support this exhibit, both wearing modern museum attire), 17th-Century English Village (historical performers portraying the colonists in the year 1627 in an authentic reproduction of the New Plymouth Colony - with immersive performances happening all the time such as dancing, military, cooking, story telling, religion, games & toys - 9 Pin, Hoop/stick, weapons, farming...), Craft Center (NEW exhibit - 17th-century English Apothecary in addition to the existing exhibit of European pottery) and History in a New Light on exhibit in the Davis Gallery. Mayflower, listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places has seen millions of people step aboard and learn about the infamous journey across the Atlantic in 1620 and her sail in 1957 when presented from the people of England to the people of the United States for our help in the war. We recommend a minimum of 30 - 45 minutes to tour the ship.
