Portage Glacier

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

At the 140-acre Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, jaws drop in awe-even those of longtime Alaskans. AWCC’s mission is to provide refuge for orphaned, injured and ill animals-those that can’t survive in the wild. The center also educates visitors about Alaska’s Wildlife. Some animals you will see are brown bears, black bears, wolf pack, wood bison, moose etc...

Chugach National Forest

Take our breathtaking ride down the Seward Highway voted top scenic byways in America where you will view awe-inspiring stops along Turnagain Arm. Alaska's Seward Highway climbs over mountain passes where you're surrounded by jaw-dropping views of jagged peaks, rain forests, crystal lakes and the Pacific Ocean. This highway truly is, a photographer's dream. Potter Marsh marks the end of city views and the beginning of wilderness—it's absolutely a "birder's" paradise! While driving along this road, we stop at many opportunities with ample time to take in the breathtaking views that will make your soul sing.

Gary is a wonderful tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Alaskan history and Native culture. He was very professional in his conduct with his guests. Our driver, Matt, went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable day. We hit some construction traffic on the way down to Portage. Matt rearranged our itinerary so that we would see and experience all that we were supposed to. He even added stops at a rain forest and other scenic areas on the way home to insure the construction traffic was gone. It was a great day!

Our tour guide, Matt, was amazing and made this tour one of the highlights of our trip. He was a wealth of knowledge and made sure everyone in our group had a wonderful day. Matt was excellent at pointing at the best photo spots and always offered to take everyone's pictures (an important item in my book!) We enjoyed being on a smaller tour vehicle and appreciated the extra scenic stops as time allowed. This a beautiful area of Alaska and should not be missed!
