A visit to the verdant grounds of historic Pittock Mansion gives a breathtaking view of Mt. Hood. The International Rose Test Garden offers a sensory experience like no other. We'll cross an iconic truss bridge to visit east side neighborhoods, from historic to up-and-coming.

We will tour the grounds, hear the history, and take in the spectacular view.

Washington Park

Get a taste of Washington Park on the way to the Rose Garden. It includes a zoo, forestry museum, arboretum, Japanese garden, amphitheatre, memorials, archery range, tennis courts, soccer field, picnic areas, playgrounds, public art and many acres of wild forest with miles of trails.

International Rose Test Garden

Let's stop and smell the roses - more than 10,000 when they're in bloom! Even out of season, this is a beautiful stop with a wondrous view!

Old Town

Pass through Old Town on your tour of downtown Portland, and hear the history of the city's rough and tumble beginnings.

Pearl District

We will pass through and learn about Portland's famous shopping district, as well as Old Chinatown, the cultural district, and the government district.

Powell's City of Books

See the largest bookstore in the world, with approximately one million books.

Tom McCall Waterfront Park

We will drive along this historic park and hear the fascinating history of its origin.

Hawthorne Bridge

(Possibly on itinerary, depending on guide and weather) One of twelve Portland bridges that crosses the Willamette River, the Hawthorne Bridge is a truss bridge with a vertical lift. It is the oldest vertical-lift bridge in operation in the United States.

Mount Tabor Park

(Possibly on itinerary, depending on guide and weather) This is another location with interesting history and an amazing view of the city.

McMenamins Kennedy School

(Possibly on itinerary, depending on guide and weather) This offbeat hotel in a restored 1915 elementary school. Quirky, artisan decorated.

Cathedral Park

(Possibly on itinerary, depending on guide and weather) Named because of the epic bridge towering above, Cathedral Park is steeped in history. It is believed to be one of the 14 Lewis and Clark landing sites in the Vancouver-Portland area. This spot had been a fishing and camping site for many area Indian tribes. In 1931, the St Johns Bridge was built on the site with 400-ft towers and a main span of 1,207 feet. It is the only steel suspension bridge in Portland.

This tour was awesome! It was a great introduction and overview of the City of Portland! Our tour guide was amazing. Unfortunately, I forgot his name but it did begin with a "D" and wore a cute hat!! He offered so much detail and interesting commentary throughout the tour, that by the time the tour was as over, I felt I knew more than some locals about Portland! My husband and I went back to some areas after the tour for even more depth, but we knew where we wanted to go and felt comfortable exploring! I highly recommend this tour!

Damon was a great tour guide and showed us a lot of the city in 3 hours! Good to see many different aspects of Portland. My favorites were the International Test Rose Garden and riding through the neighborhoods in NE Portland!
