Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

What a fun and exciting experience! Everyone was so friendly (Serene(?), and each driver we encountered (Jay and a woman). Our whale watching guides (Brendan, Cassious, and Russell) were funny and informative as well! They were determined to give us the best whale watching experience, and they did not fail. We even found a whale breaching - which apparently is rare in Alaska! I would definitely book this excursion with this tour company - they truly want their customers to have a great experience. Mendenhall Glacier was amazing as well! So majestic and surreal. Highly recommend!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our whale watching tour. Tad, Russell, and Captain Michelle were very knowledgeable, kind, and entertaining. We appreciated the safety measures they employed and the care they took to ensure guests’ satisfaction. We had the absolute best time on our Juneau Tours Whale Watching tour! Our captain, Brenden and our deck hands, Boyd and Jarrett, were wonderful. Jarrett is very knowledgeable about all things whales so we learned a ton! Captain Brenden and his puns and jokes kept us entertained. They put us right on the whales, and we got to see some sea lions too! The voyage was safe, beautiful, and one of the highlights of our trip. Many thanks to them for memories of a lifetime.
