Overview

Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

The entire tour on June 18, 2019 was really wonderful! Shuttles to and from were comfortable and the whale watching boat was roomy and warm, though we could step outside once we stopped to see whales. Charlie was a wonderful and energetic guide and even did a "whale call" with great timing just before the whales surfaced. She and Captain Kara would definitely be my first choice if I return.

Just took this tour in August 2019 while on a cruise with the Ruby Princess. There were four of us in our group. Communication before the event was clear and finding our tour group was an easy ten minute walk from where the cruise ships dock. Great narrated bus ride out to where ship boarding occurs. We had an AMAZING day of whale watching! I really liked having reliable transportation to Mendenhall Glacier as well! The tram for picking up at the end of our sightseeing day at the glacier was well marked and there was plenty of room on the bus, even thought it was a VERY busy port day in town.Side note- these folks worked like crazy to get me out of a jam. I had accidentally booked half of my group for one day and the other other for a separate day! Totally panicked, I called the local operator who was kind, patient and bent over backwards to make sure we could all get on the tour together! Outstanding local customer service!

Excellent whale watching tour. The right size boat for the number of people on the excursion. Plenty of room to move around when we were in watching the whales. Saw many whales during our tour. The boat crew and staff were very knowledgeable about the whales. The visit to Mendenhall Glaicier was great - appreciated that our time there was not limited - we caught the shuttle back to Juneau when we were finished visiting the area. Saw a Black Bear and cubs and porcupine while walking the boardwalk trail. Would highly recommend this tour.
