Premier Whale Watch and Mendenhall Glacier Combo

Overview
Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

We used Viator instead of our cruise shipā€™s whale watch as the price was better. Excellent boat & staff for the whale watch, followed by bus to/from Mendenhall. Highly recommend! We use Viator regularly.

We had opted for the combination tour so we could get the best of Juneau and we weren't disappointed. The trip was very well organised we went to the Glacier first and were told and shown exactly where we were to pick up the bus for the following whale watching. We had plenty of time at the Glacier and were able to walk to Nugget falls, the glacier view point and explore the nature trail, a real hi light as we saw a black bear with cubs. The bus for the whale watching was prompt and we went to the quay to meet the boat,we had to wait in the hot sun for about 10 minutes for the boat to come in. The crew were very enthusiastic and we saw 6 whales including a mother and calf,I was pleased to see that the captain stuck to the viewing guidelines and didn't cause the animals any distress. We were back in Juneau with time to explore before our ship departed,a very memorable day.

Jayden was an excellent guide and as excited as we were about all the whales! I've forgotten the name of our captain, but she got us very close to a bunch of whales. We took the 10:30am tour on July 10th, with whale watching first and plenty of time at Mendehall Glacier to watch the video at the Visitor Center, take pictures and walk to Nugget Falls, take the tram back and have dinner at Tracy's King Crab Shack (on our own) with time to spare. Definitely our favorite of the excursions we did on our Alaska Cruise!
