Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

Christy was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. We were very fortunate to see two types of whales. It was quite an enjoyable time. We also enjoyed hiking near the Medenhall Glacier.

First the whale watch was phenomenal. Impressive boat that wasn't too large which allowed for easy viewing at all times. Can be inside or outside on the front or back and even on top for the best view. We had Capt Kevin who did a great job piloting but also finding the whales. Jaden was our naturalist and did a great job. After the 2 hours, took a short bus ride to the Glacier. Here you can spend as little or as long as your want (be aware of final bus return, but you're not assigned to a bus which gives you flexibility). Can hike to the falls, tour the visitor center etc. It can be crowded but just go straight to the trails.

We did the best of Juneau which included a meal at the Orca Point Lodge. It was the best Salmon we'd ever had. We only got to see the backs of the Whales but we did see them, just like they guaranteed.
