I LOVED Handlebar Bike Tours arts district tour! My kids, husband and I, plus three other family members did the Arts District tour when we were visiting Los Angeles this last week and it was an excellent experience. Everyone in our group, except for my 12 year old daughter and I, were very experienced street riders. At first, when booking this tour, I was concerned that it might be too difficult or even scary riding on the busy streets of downtown LA, for my daughter and I. I emailed the website ahead of time with my questions and was told that this ride was truly designed for all levels and that they choose the times of the tours to fall when least traffic is, and routes that keep it easy and safe, etc. I still had my concerns when I booked this trip, but hoped for the best. The tour was much more than I had hoped for. I quickly felt at ease riding around on this tour following our tour guide, Jen. She gave us plenty of instruction ahead as to what to expect riding and following behind. As for the tour itself, I found it to be incredibly informative and truly inspiring. There was a lot of interesting history woven in with current day street art, new buildings area, landmarks, museums, shops, bars, businesses, etc. Jen told us of what used to be in certain locations, what’s there now, who artists are, what buildings the art is on, plus exhibits, places to go back to, tons of info packed into 2.5 hours. So interesting. I also felt really empowered to be riding around on the streets of downtown Los Angeles on a bike and going on back streets and hidden alleys and learning about places that seem like only people “in the know” would know about. I loved this tour, not only for myself, but as a family experience to have together. I highly recommend this tour and I plan to do the historical tour next time I’m in town. There’s a ton happening in downtown LA and it feels exciting to be there.

One of the main reasons I started the tour was to get people comfortable biking in DTLA, so it gives me great pleasure to hear you and your daughter felt empowered on the bikes. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a great review.

This tour completely surpassed our expectations. Our group of 7 (ages 12 to 52) were greeted by Jen and Jenna at the Grand Central Market. They fitted each of us to very comfortable and easy to ride bikes. Jen's passion for LA history and street art was prevalent within the places she called out and elaborated on during our tour. Having been a frequent LA visitor for over 30 years I was re-introduced to areas I had long forgotten about (Al's Bar location being one). The street art was fantastic and everyone totally enjoyed the Hauser and Wirth Gallery. Great way to spend a liad back afternoon with friends and family.
