Private Advanced Trail Ride

Overview

Everyone always wants to jump on and ride fast when they’re with horses, and that’s exactly what our advanced ride is for. Experienced riders can kick up the energy a little and have a horseback adventure in a truly spectacular natural setting—Oahu’s North Shore. Guided by one of our wranglers, you’ll strike out onto technical trails and across open pastures, passing grazing cows who just might sneak a peek to see your skills!

This ride involves trotting and cantering, and it’s important that all participants have previous riding experience. Wranglers will assess riding skills and will base the pace of the ride on the skill level of the least experienced rider in the group. Our wranglers are well-trained and ready for anything, so as long as you have the horse skills needed, you’ll have a fun and safe experience.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Minimum age is 12 years
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. 220lb/100kg weight limit
Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
Phones or small cameras are allowed
No pregnant or intoxicated riders are allowed.

We booked the advanced ride. Our guide was Trinity and she paid close attention to how my husband and I rode and took the time to give clear instructions and to monitor if we were following those directions properly. The horses were well trained but clearly lively too. Great experience. We have been to Gunstock before and have booked another visit for next month, so clearly we think it's a great place.

Did the Advanced private ride this morning and it was awesome! My horse "Bud" was gorgeous and very responsive as we trotted and cantered over the ranch's huge property. Wrangler Trinity was wonderful in taking me around and letting me know when it was safe to pick up the pace. The ranch was clean and the horses all looked well taken care of. I would definitely ride here again when I need some horsey time. This private ride is the best!!

We did the Advanced Trail Ride (Private) at Gunstock Ranch in Jul 2022. Our family of 4 (2 adults & two 17 year olds) enjoyed our trail guide, Liz, the horses, and the views. We’ve ridden a lot throughout our lives and always try to ride on vacation in unique places. Thoroughly enjoyed the advanced option that allowed us to trot and canter several times during our ride. If you’re an experienced rider, this is a great ride!
