The space opened its doors in ’84 and has been the hub of social life ever since, hosting over 300 events per year. From farmers’ markets to beer fests, from political protests to a community sing-along, you’ll witness all that makes Portland tick. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the people-watching, this is truly the heart and soul of the city!

International Rose Test Garden
Step into our Rose Gardens and let the sweet scent of over 600 different roses transport your senses to paradise. Be swept off your feet by the stunning Washington Park views, showcasing both city skyscrapers and majestic mountains. Experience the magic of the International Rose Test Garden where over 10,000 rose bushes burst into bloom from May to October, boasting a mind-boggling 610 rose varieties. While most of the roses are up for grabs in stores, 10 to 20 new varieties take center stage each year, showing off the latest and greatest the market has to offer. This is a trip you won’t want to miss between May and mid-October.

World Forestry Center - Discovery Museum
Step into a forest wonderland, no hiking boots necessary! The Discovery Museum has dreamt up two floors of interactive exhibits that will transport you to lush forests across the globe. It’s a perfect fit for everyone from curious kiddos to seasoned outdoorsy types. Their exhibits will have you exploring tree planting, wildlife, and the many benefits of wood. On the first floor, you’ll get a front-row seat to the marvels of forests: habitats, recreation, and essential resources. Then, take the elevator up to the second floor for an international adventure. You’ll discover how forests sustain and connect people all over the world. Its vibrant blocks offer a glimpse into the district’s past, with cobblestone streets, loading docks, and towering buildings standing proud. This urban renaissance is a fusion of creativity, productivity, and outdoor spaces, like the stunning Tanner Springs Park, that give life to the area.

The most memorable part of our tour was Shannon our guide. She was amazing and provided a wealth of knowledge! We lived Peninsula Park and Washington Park where we saw amazing flowers and Quinceanera celebrations. Absolutely a lovely day! Thank you Viator.
