Private All Access 9/11 Ground Zero: Tour, Museum & Observatory

Overview
This deeply personal tour of Ground Zero begins at the site of what served as a rescue center for victims and place for mementos after the attacks: St. Paul's Chapel. The historic church was miraculously unharmed when the Twin Towers fell.

You'll then walk to the 9/11 Memorial where we'll reflect on the lives lost in the World Trade Center attacks. See "Reflecting Absence," the largest man-made waterfalls on the continent. Your private guide will share the meaning behind the memorial, stories from the day, and how New Yorkers came together in the aftermath.

Afterward, visit the 9/11 Museum with your skip-the-line ticket for a self-guided tour of the exhibits and artifacts. Next, walk over to Freedom Tower. In the lobby, you can watch "Voices," a film about the Twin Towers and Freedom Tower, before riding the SkyPod elevator 1,250 feet up. Visit the tri-level One World Observatory for panoramic views of NYC, immersive LED displays, and the See Forever Theater.

The tour started at St. Paul's Chapel, which is about a block and a half away from where the Twin Towers stood. Amazingly, this historic chapel had minimal damage in the disaster. Russel R. was our tour guide, and offered us a very personal telling of the story, including his own experiences at the age of nine at the time. The walking part of the tour started with the historical chapel, where George Washington attended daily during his time as the first US President. Then we walked through the Oculus (transit hub), around the various grounds learning about what happened there, the footprints of the towers and park in general, and to Fire Station No. 10, which is basically across the street from the WTC; they were the first of the first responders. At the conclusion of the guided tour, we went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum where we were given our passes to that and the Freedom Tower observation deck, both of which were self-guided. The 9/11 Memorial museum is much, much bigger and more intense than I imagined. You are standing *underneath* where the towers were! Highly recommended.

I want to thank Helene for being an amazing and informative guide around St. Paul's and ground zero. These tours are great and I appreciate having a guide explaining the buildings, landmarks, and intricate details of the memorial that I may not have found out without a guide. If you are able to, book an all access tour. The guide will not go with you in the museum, and due to the size and numerous exhibits, I recommend using the audio device for a little extra information and to help get around. It was very busy, so I wasn't always able to read the displays, and the device also helped with that. All in all, the experience was great and I think a must see in NYC. Wear some good walking shoes!

What a great tour…I can’t recommend it enough! Jaclyn, our tour guide, was fabulous! She is a wealth of knowledge and was able to share so many stories about 9/11, and the rebuilding of area, that we never would have learned on our own. I brought my 78 year old father with me and we decided to do a private tour and I am SO glad we did! Jaclyn was able to adapt the tour to our needs, and she did so without me even having to ask. We walked a little slower, she found seating areas for us at every stop, she communicated very clearly and made sure we could hear her at all times. She was so considerate from start to finish! And her passion and love for 9/11 makes the tour so meaningful and truly inspiring! Thank you, Jaclyn!
