Private Arctic Circle Expedition from Fairbanks

Overview

This is a small, private tour to the Arctic Circle. Passengers will be riding in a comfy 2025 Toyota Sequoia and brand new winter tires.

Scheduling on the website is a bit tricky and doesn't allow for next day returns, just keep in mind the trip will take 10-12 hours depending on weather and how much time you'd like to spend at each location.

We'll be travelling through mountain passes, river valleys, and possibly seeing the Northern Lights along the way.

This tour is flexible and allows for you to request a stop anywhere along the way to stretch your legs, take photos, or even just enjoy the views.

Pickup Time is completely customizable to work with your schedule!

What To Expect

BLM Arctic Circle Monument Sign

The edge of the North, this sign is your passing point into the Arctic Circle. There's room to wander, places to sit and eat, and plenty of photo opportunities to be had!

Yukon River Bridge

A massive bridge spanning the Yukon River, this destination hosts a camp with basic ammenities. Refueling, snacking, and bathroom trips available here. Down by the river are some opportunities for some gorgeous shots of the river! Aurora activity is highly visible in this flat open area!

Ian really made sure I got the full experience on my trip. Making stops for photo opportunities, safe driving and conversation. Traveling solo is sometime a bit nerve racking, but he made the trip enjoyable. We departed at 6pm for the opportunities to spot Auroras. Unfortunately they aren't predictable and we didn't get to see them. I have on other trips, so for me it was the journey to the Arctic. Great trip!! Some booking things I discovered. Pick up location only let's you select a hotel. If you stay somewhere other than hotel, that's a but tricky. Also departure times, depending on time of your trip (April for me) will determine time to depart and find Auroras if they are out. Ian said the site doesn't allow for after midnight return, so 11:30pm is what my ticket said, which is different from description of 10-12 hrs. I was out 6pm to 4am. Just some tips I came across. Enjoy your Arctic Circle experience.

OMG! What an amazing trip! Worth every single penny and then some! Ian was a great driver - I was a little nervous because it was snowing hard but he was obviously good at driving in the snow and had everything we needed in case of an emergency, including a CB radio. He pointed out things along the trip, was very easy to talk to and very funny! He timed the trip just right so we could see the sunset that lasted for hours! Seriously! We stopped at the Yukon River Base Camp, got some souveniers and a little food and then headed to the Arctic Circle. Then we went to a nice spot to see the aurora. I could not have asked for a better trip and guide! Save yourself the search - book with Ian! You won't regret it! :)

Our guide, Ian was so super nice. He went out of his way to pick us up. Drive us to Arctic circle and took great pictures for us. He learned that we were three days into our trip but still had not seen the northern light, on our way back at dark, he stopped at multiple locations to hunt the northern light with and for us. We finally saw the most amazing Aurora. He is an expert northern light photographer too and took a lot of great pictures for us with northern light at dark! This is a very pleasant putting Thant to Ian! If I can give 10 stars I would!
