My teenagers are not particularly interested in Boston history. We booked a private tour with Alan from Boston Citywalks. Despite my less than engaged teenagers who were on the heels of two college tours that day, Alan made the tour fascinating enough to keep them engaged for more than two hours. They learned more about American and Boston history in those two hours than they would have in weeks of staring at a history book. Alan is a true historian, loves what he does, and does it well.

Enjoyed seeing sites as we walked Boston. Did the tour of Fanieul Hall which was fascinating to me as i love history. Especially the meeting hall where "sons of Liberty" met with zsam Adams John Adams and other like them. To stand in the same place. Must tour the 3rd floor museum too. Enjoyed Quincy Market and had fun at the "Cheers"bar next to Quincy market. Had a glass of champaign with my sister. Enjoyed aeeing the memorial to Holocaust! On the walking tour too. Such a great pkace to visit. History at ecery turn just wish I'd had time to do much much more.

It was over 90 degrees on the day of our walking tour but it was fab. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and was well aware of the temperature so kept us in the shade when she could. We went through the park with the ducks and to the market. It was a lovely place and quite green and clean. We had a sit down in a church ( possibly ) where the Declaration of Independence was read out. Walked through a graveyard but it was a super few hours. Would recommend a walking tour of this city all day long. Would love to spend more time here.
