Private Drunk History Tour

Overview
There are a multitude of walking and ghost tours to choose from in San Antonio. Most of which are led by costumed guides, reciting scripts while herding 30 people like so many cattle through ubiquitous franchises.

I offer an alternative. A boutique, historical bar tour.

My name is Emzy. I've been sharing my hometown with guests for over twenty years and I invite you to join me for an evening of cocktails and conversation all things history in two of the most storied bars in Texas.

After a few minutes in Alamo Plaza we will belly up to the same bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited many of the famed Rough Riders in 1898, drinks in hand we then explore the oldest hotel in the Texas followed with a second round at another nearby historic bar chosen on your taste.

Warm welcomes, prompt service, heavy pours, exclusive access, unparalleled research and personalized service await you on the ultimate way to truly discover San Antonio: past and present.

We had an incredible time with Emzy as he took us through some historical places around Alamo Plaza. The Menger Hotel was beautiful and historic and its stories were amazing but I must say our favorite site was the St. Anthony hotel. Emzy is an entertaining guide with a wealth of knowledge from passionate research. He provides the stories, and can back each one up with photos and articles from the past. Truly fascinating stuff! And the cocktails were delicious!

Tour guide never showed despite me calling and texting. We waited 30 minutes before our scheduled time and 30 minutes after.

James, I can only say that I too am very disappointed that truly a perfect storm of unfortunate and unusual circumstances culminated in us not successfully rendezvousing. Circumstances including unscheduled construction in our meeting location, an inaccurate contact number on your reservation which rendered all my efforts to contact you before our start time to make alternative meeting arrangements (as I did successfully with the other couple on the same tour) as well as my efforts to offer you an opportunity to join another tour later that evening. While I completely understand the level of frustration that led to this review I believe that after we were finally able to connect and discuss the situation that we both acknowledged that there was no malfeasance on either of our parts. While it was unfortunate, I believe that the totality of my reviews put our ill-fated experience in proper context without diminishing your perspective and disappointment.
