Private Excursion to Literary Concord

Overview
Northwest of Boston, Concord is an affluent suburb that has been drawing visitors for centuries. The town is now not only known for its revolutionary ties, but also for its notable literary ties, including to Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, and Alcott, with famous sites including the Old North Bridge, Orchard House and Walden Pond. Now, the town remains home to present-day notable authors, including Doris Kearns Goodwin, Alan Lightman and Gregory Maguire. Your guide will take you to several of the city’s highlights, including Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, which is the final resting place for several of the above-mentioned authors, and your tour includes tickets to explore Alcott’s home, Orchard House, at your own leisure. Your guide will take you back to Boston and drop you off at your hotel when the tour is finished.

Our tour guide was Time. He was very accommodating and did let us customize our trip. We were traveling with children and when the day got long and kids were tired, we were able to delete some stops. Tim gave a nice historical narrative as we journeyed to Concord and delivered us to The Orchard House on time for our Alcott home tour which was our primary objective to taking this tour. Avery informative and relaxing trip as Tim took care of all the details.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! Martin, our guide, was absolutely fantastic! I'm a history buff so a lot of the sites had been on my list to see for a while. He provides you with so much information that unfamiliar guests can learn a lot! Given the duration of this tour (5 hours!) it was nice to spend it with Martin, whom we cannot rave enough about. I'd highly recommend this tour!
