We went on a 4 hour tour on March 21st with me, my wife, and our 4 boys 17, 13, 10, 8. We live in Chicago so not expert riders but my 13 year old and i have been riding together on local trails for a few years. When we scheduled the tour they took our info so they would have the right bikes ready.
When we arrived, the guide was super friendly and they had our bikes all set. They made sure the bikes fit and had my clipless pedals all set on my bike. Bikes were definitely better than anything we had ridden.
For 2 hours the guide took us on easier trails plus a little pump track to get everyone comfortable with their bikes. He stopped a bunch of times to show us how to navigate certain obstacles. After 2 hours, me and my 13 year old separated from the tour and headed on a few trails that guide recommended based on our skill level.
The guide continued on with the rest of the family and even when my 8 year old got super frustrated, the guide was able to keep things moving.
My 13 year old and i had a blast going on the more difficult trails and he did not want to stop other than being tired.
We would definitely do this again. Even if you don't need a guide, the bikes were great and the location cannot be beat as you ride right onto the trails.
