What To Expect

Explore these local hangouts and iconic landmarks – Pebbly Beach, the Inn at Mt. Ada and “three palms”, the pet cemetery, the Memorial/ Botanical Gardens, look-out points over Bell Tower Road, the world famous Casino building – including feeding the fish and the Casino Point Dive Park and Marine Preserve plus a peek around the Avalon Diving History Exhibit!

After Main St. and nearby areas, you’ll want to learn more about Avalon and have fantastic harbor views from different levels. What better introduction to the island than by an insider who has lived in and worked on Catalina? Our sincere thanks to our guide and driver, Dudley. He spoke to how the island has changed, stayed the same and continues to be a beloved destination. My husband and I wanted to make the most of our day trip and take back lasting memories along with our souvenirs. We are so glad we took the guided golf cart tour and would not hesitate to do it again!

Wonderful experience- Aaron was our guide and he shared with our group the history of the island with accuracy and humor- We saw all the sights and thought the tour was a great adventure- As the person who found this tour, and arranged it, I was very pleased that the others in our party ( we had a total of 4 ) continued to rave about it for the rest of our vacation. Sometimes it was hard to hear the commentary due to riding in a golf cart so I would suggest some that some type of ear pieces be included-

Audra was our tour guide and she was awesome! I was traveling with my 80 year old parents and chose activities that would be enjoyable and easy for them to get involved. Audra grew up on Catalina Island and new all kinds of fun facts and tidbits about the locals, island life and all the local history. She was fun, energetic and entertaining! She allowed us to tag along on the tour with a 2nd rented golf cart, because we had more than 5 in our group. Audra took special care of my parents and my sister and even provided snacks and drinks and a blanket to keep everyone cozy. My only tweak to this guided tour would have been to somehow project her voice so that our 2nd golf cart could hear everything when both carts were in motion. We had a great personally guided tour and I would highly recommend this 2 hour extra for anyone visiting the island to learn all about its history.
