We booked a 1/2 day tour through Viator several weeks prior to the scheduled date. We unwittingly were booked for the day of the Cherry Blossom Parade and several other major events in DC. Afraid that traffic would be a nightmare, we called Viator and our confidence level was pretty low, we spoke to people who were very unresponsive. However, our driver, Frank, showed up on time with a comfortable SUV big enough for twelve people (and we were only a group of three). My husband explained what we wanted to see and do, and off we went. Frank was very knowledgeable and extremely nice. We had a terrific time. And he managed to get us around on a day where driving in DC was extremely difficult due to numerous street closures. I know there are some bad reviews on this site, but we were very pleased.

I would not recommend this tour at all. The driver picked us up slightly late. I am OK with this understanding traffic. However, when I continually asked for timing to end the trip, I was never given a clear answer and I was given the impression that it was not a big deal. However, the company called me at the end of the trip and advised me that I owed an additional 100 as I went over time. You can imagine my shock on receiving a phone call from a person I don't even know demanding my credit card. I asked them if they could forward it to Viator, and he insisted he could not. If the driver had been clear with me on timing, I would not have accepted the drop off at the hotel and taken a taxi or uber back for much, much cheaper. There are a number of other reasons I would not recommend the trip. If you are thinking of taking this trip, DO NOT. I should note that I travel extensively and have used Viator and Trip Advisor for tours many times in the past. This is the first time I strongly advise people not to take the tour. The tour company is highly unprofessional.
