We flew with Nate and this has easily been one of the best air tours we have ever done. We’ve been fortunate enough to do air tours on Big Island and Oahu, this tour is definitely the best one we have done! The private doors off experience is something everyone should try at least once and perfect for groups of 2-3.

Great doors-off experience! My son and I booked with Ali'i because we wanted a private ride rather than being booked with another couple and one of us having a middle seat in the front. I would highly recommend going with them. A few things to consider… Know which helicopter you want. They use the Robinson R44 vs. the Hughes 500 that some other companies use. • R44 is smaller than the Hughes 500, so there are 3 passenger seats, all with a window. The Hughes has 4 passenger seats, but one is a front middle between the pilot and window seat. Booking the R44 ensures everyone has a good seat. • The R44 is narrower, so the doors off experience and views are amazing if you want to feel more open to the outside! If you want to feel a bit more enclosed, the Hughes might be better, but we preferred the R44. There are more open window views in the R44 as well. • The R44 is a bit less smooth a ride than a Hughes. It’s still a great option, but the single blade and smaller engine is a slightly rougher ride in winds. If you want a private ride, either fill the chopper or book private. It’s definitely worth a few extra dollars to have a private experience. It’s less money to book directly with Ali’i on their website than through Viator or another service.
