Jodi and Rob were amazing to work with from booking to touring. Jodi answered ALL my questions before and after our tour. Rob was great, sharing his knowledge of the areas which made our tour more interesting. There were 10 of us on a 34 day cruise and when we chatted at the end of our cruise, we all agreed that the professionalism of Rob and Jodi made this one of our best tours!

What a fantastic day we had with Rob in his very comfortable air-conditioned van with 4 other couples from the Sea Princess cruise ship 17 May 2018. It was the best value-for-money tour we have been on. He is a font of knowledge about The Big Island &, as a certified volcano guide, he was able to give us the most up-to-date news about Kilauea's latest eruption that morning. We were with him for 5 1/2 hrs & in that time we saw & did such a lot along the Kona coast - from the excellent coffee plantation tour, various historical spots (especially the Painted Church & the Place of Refuge), & finally walking along the beach beside the Green Turtles. Rob knows his history very well, not having to refer to notes. We spent a lot of time in the Painted Church where he gave us, as well as other visitors, the full story of the priest who painted all the stories on the walls & ceiling. At no stage did we feel rushed. We were able to take as long as we wanted to soak in the environment & history. Rob ensured that we were provided with plenty of cold water due to the heat, as well as snacks. At the end of the day he stopped long enough for us to buy still-warm, homemade bread which is a speciality. Yummy! Our fellow cruise passengers also had very high praise for Rob & the fabulous tour.. After dropping the others off at the Cruise Ship, Rob took we 2 back to the local markets within walking distance of the ship. We were also able to see some of the other historical buildings in the town itself on our way back. As soon as he had dropped us off I discovered that my camera was still in his van. Fortunately I had his phone number & he came straight back with it. Thanks so much Rob! Before arriving at Kona the Ship's Captain had told us that our port call at Hilo the next day had been cancelled due to Kilauea's eruption. After having a fantastic day with Rob we were very disappointed about this news as Rob would have met us in Hilo & taken us on a tour of the volcanic area. We know that we would've had another fantastic day with him. When we expressed our interest in flying back sometime in the future to Hawaii & the islands, particularly Kona, Rob offered to provide information to help plan for our stay. Don't hesitate to book a tour with Big Island VIP Tours. You won't be disappointed.
